New Pond Curling Club is an out door curling club that is a member of the Grand National Curling Club. The Primary Goal of New Pond Curling Club is to stengthen the tradition established by Anne and Bob Burchesky in 1951 that has evolved into a "Burchesky Curling Dynasty" that now bridges three generations. The other goal is to have "good curling."
The Burchesky Curling Dynasty has raised to a new level with the formation of the New Pond Curling Club. The dream of a new club was made possible when Bob and Anne Burchesky traveled to a former bonspeil site (Lake Placid) and discovered three curling stones frozen together in an antique shop. The stones were originally from the old Lake Placid Curling Club. The Three stones were delivered to the lake house, by Anne and Bob, to team up with stones previously aquired by Douglas Burchesky and others donated by Steve Burchesky and with all the stones at the lake house the club was ready.
